The 400Gbps OSFP to 2x200Gbps QSFP56 Active Optical Splitter Cable represents an innovative interconnect solution designed to bridge next-generation and legacy infrastructure in modern data centers. This high-performance Active Optical Cable (AOC) features an OSFP finned-top connector on one end that splits into two QSFP56 connectors, effectively converting a single 400Gb/s NDR switch port into two independent 200Gb/s HDR connections. Compliant with SFF-8665 standards for QSFP56 interfaces, this solution provides seamless compatibility between newer OSFP-equipped switches and existing QSFP56-based host channel adapters or switches. At the core of this technology is an advanced optical conversion system that distributes the 400Gb/s signal from the OSFP interface across eight multimode fiber pairs, then intelligently allocates these to the four fiber pairs in each of the two QSFP56 connections. The Active Optical Cable architecture incorporates sophisticated signal conditioning electronics that maintain signal integrity while minimizing power consumption, making it significantly more efficient than traditional copper alternatives. This design approach enables data center operators to maximize their existing QSFP56 infrastructure investments while gradually transitioning to higher-speed 400G networks.
