Switch multi-mode optical fiber cabling (5-100m):
100G QSFP28 SR4 optical transceiver which is suitable for 100G network transmission on different floors. Use OM3 multimode fiber when the transmission distance is less than 70 meters and OM4 multimode fiber is used for transmission distance between 70m and 100m.
Single-mode fiber optic cabling between switches (100m-2km):
100G QSFP28 CWDM4 or 100G QSFP28 PSM4 optical transceiver which are suitable for 100G network transmission between different buildings. The maximum transmission distance is 2km, and the cost of the module is almost the same, but the cost of the MPO cable connected to the PSM4 is higher than the cost of the LC cable connected to the CWDM4.
Building interconnection (2km-10km):
100G QSFP28 LR4 optical transceiver connects with single-mode optical fiber, the maximum transmission distance is 10km, suitable for 100G network transmission in the same city and the same administrative area.
Data center long-distance transmission (10km-40km):
1OOG QSFP28 ER4 optical transceiver connects with single-mode optical fiber, the maximum transmission distance is 40km, suitable for 100G network transmission in different administrative sections of the same city.
