We know that only the transmit optical power and receiving sensitivity are within the normal range, the optical transceiver can work without packet loss or optical attenuation. However, the transmit optical power and receiving sensitivity of optical modules with different working wavelengths, transmission distances and rates are different.
There must be a reference value when using an optical power meter for testing. For example, the transmit optical power of the gigabit multi-mode optical module is between -9.5dBm~-2.5dBm, and the receiving sensitivity is between -17dBm~0dBm.
